Your first survey

Creating a survey in SwiftSurvey takes minutes. This guide walks through the entire process — from your first click to a published survey collecting responses.

Step 1: Create a new form

From your dashboard, click the Create form button in the left sidebar. This opens the name dialog.

Step 2: Name your survey

Enter a name for your survey — you can change this later. Click Create form. SwiftSurvey creates the survey and takes you straight to the builder.

Step 3: Add questions

In the builder canvas, click the + Add content button. A panel opens showing all 18 question types organized by category. Click a question type to add it to your survey. Each question can be customized — set the title, description, whether it's required, and any type-specific settings like options for choice questions or ranges for scales.

Repeat this step to add as many questions as you need. Use drag-and-drop to reorder questions. Add sections to group related questions together.

Step 4: Customize the design

Click the Palette icon in the canvas toolbar to open the theme picker. Choose from 6 professional presets (Maia, Sanar, Pilote, Jumuiya, Tulivu, Campo) or set custom colors and fonts. The preview updates in real-time.

Step 5: Configure settings

Click the Settings icon (gear) in the canvas toolbar. Here you can:

  • Add a welcome screen with a title and description
  • Add a thank-you screen or redirect URL after submission
  • Set a response limit to close the survey automatically
  • Restrict access to specific IP addresses
  • Enable anonymous mode to not collect respondent info

Step 6: Publish

When ready, click the green Publish button in the top toolbar. Your survey is now live and ready to share. You'll get a shareable link that you can copy, embed, or send via email. You can unpublish at any time — responses are preserved.
