Roles & permissions
SwiftSurvey uses a role-based permission system to control what each member can do within a workspace. Assign the right role to each team member based on their responsibilities.
Where to find it
Settings → Workspaces → select a workspace. Member roles are shown next to each member's name. Role is set when inviting.

Role hierarchy
- Owner — Full control over the workspace including billing, plan management, and the ability to delete the workspace. There can be only one Owner per workspace. The Owner can transfer ownership to another Admin.
- Admin — Can create and manage all surveys, view all responses and analytics, invite and remove members, and change member roles (except the Owner). Cannot access billing or delete the workspace.
- Editor — Can create new surveys, edit surveys they have access to, and view responses for surveys they manage. Cannot manage members, change workspace settings, or delete surveys owned by others.
- Viewer — Read-only access to specified surveys. Can view questions, responses, and analytics but cannot edit anything or invite members. Ideal for stakeholders who only need to see results.
Changing roles
Owners and Admins can update a member's role from the Members page. Click the role badge next to a member's name and select a new role from the dropdown. Role changes take effect immediately and the member does not need to re-login. You cannot change your own role.
