Survey settings

Survey settings give you granular control over how your survey behaves, who can respond, and what respondents see before and after submission. Access settings from the gear icon in the survey builder toolbar.

Where to find it

Open a survey in the builder → click the Settings icon (gear) in the canvas toolbar, or click the survey title → Survey settings.

Response limits

Set a maximum number of responses to automatically close your survey once the limit is reached. This is useful for limited-seat registrations, beta feedback programs, or quota-based research. When the limit is hit, respondents see a "survey closed" message and no further submissions are accepted.

Response controls

  • Allow multiple responses — Enable or disable repeat submissions from the same browser. When disabled, a cookie prevents duplicate entries.
  • Require sign-in — Restrict responses to authenticated users only. Useful for internal surveys where you need to track who submitted each response.
  • Response editing — Let respondents edit their answers after submission.

IP restrictions

Restrict survey access by IP address or range. Whitelist specific IPs to create internal-only surveys, or block known problematic addresses. This feature is available on Pro plans and above.

Anonymous mode

Enable anonymous mode to strip all identifying metadata (IP address, browser fingerprint, submission timestamp details) from responses. Respondents are explicitly informed that their responses are anonymous, which can improve honesty and participation rates for sensitive topics. Anonymous mode cannot be changed after responses are collected.

Welcome & thank you screens

Customize the welcome and thank-you screens with titles, descriptions, and messages. Toggle each screen on or off independently.

QR code sharing

Enable Show QR code on either screen to display a scannable QR code. Respondents can scan it to open the survey on their phone — perfect for events, flyers, clinics, and field data collection. The QR is off by default; toggle it on per screen in the settings panel.
